This is the installation of an 0-320 engine with Hal Hunt exhausts and a Elllison Throttle Body. I originally planned on an 0-235, but after discussing this with several EZ operators the O-320 came highly recommended. I had not installed the engine mount extrusions yet, so it was easy to switch to the larger ones. I also had the engine mount beefed up for the heavier engine.

This was Featherlite Coweling. I have trimmed and fitted as well as installed the fasteners. I still am deciding on up-draft or down-draft cooling. I am leaning toward the down-draft, but will continue to watch Waiter’s www.iflyez.com down draft installation for ideas and how it comes out.
Down Draft Cooling

I decided on the down draft cooling. I wanted the intake mod to be completely on the upper coweling for easy removal and replacement, plus less work. I liked what Nick Ugolini did, so I decided to do the similar mod. Used two part liquid mix for the foam. Caution, a little bit goes a long way. I had foam one foot above the cowling, but carving and shaping it was easy.
